Allicia’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey started in 2011 after marrying her husband, Sean. She coaches the Women’s Jiu Jitsu class and Yoga sessions, while also making time to compete regularly. She believes that the growth and expansion of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu among women is extremely important. “I believe the skill to protect yourself is something every woman and young lady should have.”
Sean became acquainted with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2008 and officially started training and competing in 2009. Sean teaches all levels of Jiu Jitsu classes throughout the week. “One of my greatest joys is passing on my knowledge and skills to the students of EDHBJJ… and growing my manbun and a nifty handlebar mustache (smile).”
Sean and Allicia can be found drilling and analyzing jiu-jitsu at all hours of the day in El Dorado Hills. They are a great role model to all Jiu-Jitsu couples, maintaining a healthy balance of training hard on the mat and embracing life off the mat. In addition to jiu-jitsu the two also share a passion for traveling, having spent time in Southeast Asia to train in Muay Thai and NoGi Jiu-Jitsu.
