Blue belt promotion at El Dorado Hills Jiu Jitsu & Self Defense

Blue belt promotion – EDH BJJ 柔 – Congrats to Brad on his blue belt promotion. Brad has embraced jiujitsu as an opportunity to challenge himself, to redefine his boundaries, and contribute to our community. He maintains a busy schedule with family, work in the Bay Area, and still finds time to train consistently.

For his community project, he built A small library for anyone to use and access. This is a literacy project to promote reading in our community. The more books people have available, the higher the rate of literacy in the community!

Belt Progression at EDH Jiu Jitsu

The jiujitsu demo at edh is part of tracking each students individual progression. In addition to technical evaluations, we also record what the student has learned. This process helps everyone see what they have attained in their practice.

Here is a video example after students have finished their second stripe on their white belt. The half way point in their belt progression.

Kids jiujitsu belt promotion in EDH

Congrats Ian on the gray white belt promotion! Ian is a busy with man y activities but he makes jiu jitsu a priority. He has great manners, always greeting the coaches with a bow and handshake. He also brings his intensity to practice. At first maybe too much, he has learned to control and channel his intensity in the right direction. This has been a great skill he has developed. He is determined in his practice to improve and work toward the task and goal of practice. It’ll be great to see him move up in his belt and from the kids class (age 7-9) to the Jr class (age 10+).

Belt progression and striping for white belts at EDH Jiu Jitsu

This is a bjj demonstration by Rich, a white belt student at edh Jiujitsu and Self Defense. Video

Edh jiujitsu unlike many other bjj academies uses multiple approaches to test and track the individual students progress in their skill acquisition. We incorporate all the means available to us to challenge the student to learn about the history, sport application, self defense, fitness, and healthy lifestyle that jiujitsu offers when you dive in.

One small sliver is the recorded video demonstrations. This is done twice as a white belt. Once in the middle of their belt and once at the end of their belt before receiving their blue belt. We are contributing musing to refine our process for the student to achieve success in their understanding and implementation of jiujitsu both on and off the mat.
