We are hosting a single blade knife self defense seminar at El Dorado Hills Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on January 12. This seminar will focus on defending single blade attacks such as prison stabs and slashes. This seminar is meant to be a look into what edged weapons training looks like. The idea is that you are not going to come out of a knife fight unscathed. The idea is to take the least amount of damage possible while mounting a defense sufficient enough to escape, strip the blade or possibly subdue the attacker.
The seminar will be taught by Sensei Bill Jospeh. In addition to Bill, some other martial arts colleagues with extensive edged weapons experiences will attend the event and assist in instruction.
100% of the proceeds from the seminar to raise money to install a wheel chair marine for a United States Marine Corps veteran Corporal H Earl Ford.
Right now our target project recipient Corporal Ford uses a walker for mobility. Every time he enters and exits his household, he is required to put his walker to the side and walk up the stairs while his wife carries the walker.
We are going to fix this situation and allow Corporal Ford to come and go from his household without assistance. Placerville Make Things Better (our non profit) has already collected $1,000 via direct donations. We need to raise an additional $4,000 dollars in supplies or money to make this project happen.
Attached is a photo of the front porch that we will be upgrading with a proper wheelchair capable ramp.
If you are interested in participating in fixing this situation but cannot attend the seminar, please feel free to reach out to me or join our Facebook group.
